Giclee-Print-At-The-Frame-CornerSo… what IS a Giclée?

Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is a neologism for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing.  It specifically means any high quality ink-jet print often used in galleries and print shops to denote such prints.

Because Giclées are so intricately printed, you can barely tell that they are not the original medium the artwork was created in, say with pastels or watercolors. What is great about Giclée prints is that you do not have to use expensive glass when framing them which as artists and consumers, we can save some money and not be concerned that the print will not be conserved correctly!

To see beautiful examples of Giclée prints, come down to The Frame Corner and check out Mike Etie’s artwork on display and available for purchase through June 1st, 2015!
